I have two ZTE Axon 7's that are both having this same problem. Both have Google accounts linked to them. Both have not had any issues syncing the Google accounts. All sync items are turned on.
The Backup Account section of Backup & Reset is greyed out. See attached.
In addition to this, no matter what backup app I use (CM Backup, Easy Backup, Super Backup), I can't get the SMS to back up at all. There's also something causing my Phone app and Message apps to completely crash and show blank screens. It'll work again after a few minutes.
Anyone else get this? I googled and all I came up with is "reset your device" or "I fixed it by rebooting a bunch of times" ....
