Android Oreo Beta for Samsung Galaxy S8 Now Available in More Countries

Samsung launched the Android Oreo beta program for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ in November. Since then, it's released multiple beta updates for both smartphones, the most recent being beta 4. However, up until now, the number of markets supported by the beta program has remained the same.

This week, Samsung's brought the Android 8.0 Oreo beta program to India, Germany, France, and Poland. The program's expansion hasn't been made official yet, but Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in these countries began to receive the update over the past weekend.

If you aren't registered for the beta program, get started by opening the Samsung Members app on the Galaxy S8 or S8+, tapping the Register for Galaxy Beta Program option under the Notices section of the app's Home tab, and then tapping the image promoting the Galaxy beta. After agreeing to the terms and conditions, you'll see an option to enroll.

If registration is successful, you'll be able to download the beta by heading to the Settings app, tapping on the Software update option, and then selecting Download updates manually. SamMobile states that the update has a download size of 1396MB, and that it might not come to all users at once; instead, it's expected to roll out gradually.

Samsung hasn't said yet when the stable Android Oreo update will come to the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but beta releases are already beginning to hit the company's other flagships. Recently, a leaked Android Oreo beta update was discovered for the Galaxy Note 8.
