Note7 & LG G Watch - notification problems

I have successfully connected my LG G Watch to my Note7 via Android Wear, but it will not push any notifications. Testing the push notifications via the phone app results in no notifications on the watch. It WILL recognize it as a "trusted device", but just no notifications! I've tried adjusting all settings related to notifications I can find. Please help!
