m8 won't factory reset, need stock rom or something.... please help

Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me, and make things easy to do cause I am tired of traulling through page after page of failed attempts. So a little background first....

My M8 started coming up with an error to do with google play services not working and it crashing repeatedly, after trying everything under the sun to fix the issue, I decided a factory reset was best. So I attempted to do a factory reset from within the HTC. it seemed to do nothing. So I got in to the HBoot menu and that just goes round in circles. Last time it did something silly like this I had to send it off to HTC for repair, I dont fancy losing my phone for 3 weeks AGAIN, so if someone here can help, I would be very grateful.

I did a "fast boot getvar all" to retrieve the following
C:\fastboot\>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 3.19.0.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 1.29.214500021.12G
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 6.12.61.4
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
(bootloader) serialno: SH*******704
(bootloader) imei: 3*******8447643
(bootloader) imei2: Not Support
(bootloader) meid: 00000000000000
(bootloader) product: m8_ul
(bootloader) platform: hTCBmsm8974
(bootloader) modelid: 0P6B10000
(bootloader) cidnum: ORANG001
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 0mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: 76df2b54
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
all: Done!
finished. total time: 0.257s

Its a UK phone, locked to the EE (orange) network. I've tried various zip files on the SDCard to do the factory reset but it normally comes back with FAILED.

Can someone, anyone, help get the orignal stock ROM and what I need to do to get it to work....... its annoying that HTC didn't reflash the rom on the phone and they arent answering phones or email or their "live chat"

thank you in advanced.

Pete
